When Posted Hours and a Listing Disagree

When a website, a map, and a gate sign disagree, the site's current instruction is the one you follow. Confirm it before you haul, and correct the stale listing afterward.

Collect the versions without merging them

Write down what the map listing says, what the official website says, and what a gate sign or a receptionist says, each with the date you saw it. Do not average the hours into a compromise. Search Dumpmapper by ZIP code or city to find the listing, and remember listings can be out of date. Call the site and ask which hours apply to your type of customer on the day you plan to go. Commercial hours and resident hours can differ. A sign can be older than the phone answer. Ask which one staff want you to trust this week.

Plan from the confirmed version only

Load the truck only after you have a current answer. If you cannot reach anyone, do not gamble on the most generous hour. Wait. Arriving to a locked gate with a full truck is how waste gets left in the wrong place. If you are already there and the gate disagrees with the call you made yesterday, obey the gate and call again if a number is posted. Ask whether a different entrance is open. Then go home or to another confirmed site. Do not stack bags outside a closed entrance because you arrived inside a listing's hours.

Tell the map what you learned

Submit a correction that quotes the conflicting hours and the date, and say which source the site told you to trust. That helps the next search. Keep your own note for the season, and still reconfirm if the trip is weeks away. Hours change around holidays, weather, and staffing. A listing fixed today can be wrong after the next schedule change. The habit is the same every time: read, call, follow the site, correct the lead.

Before you go

  1. Write down each version of the hours and the date you saw it.
  2. Ask the site which version applies to your customer type.
  3. Travel only on the confirmed version.
  4. Submit a map correction that describes the conflict without guessing.

Showing up in the gap between two published schedules and leaving the load at the locked gate.

Questions people ask

Which source usually wins?

The current instruction from the site wins for your trip. A freshly updated official page is a strong lead, and a gate sign can be newer or older than the page. Ask when they conflict.

What if I was given hours in a voicemail?

Note the date of the voicemail and still watch for a newer sign. If they conflict, call again. A voicemail is a lead with a timestamp, not a permanent rule.

Search Dumpmapper by ZIP code or city, then call the site before you load the truck. Hours and accepted materials change.
