Trail Ridge Landfill: Jacksonville Dump Hours and Fees for 2026

If you're hauling your own trash in Jacksonville, Trail Ridge Landfill is the city's disposal site. The Saturday residential rate makes small loads cheap if you time the trip right.

Location and hours

According to the City of Jacksonville Disposal Operations page, Trail Ridge is at 5110 U.S. Hwy 301 S in Baldwin, about 4.5 miles south of I-10, phone (904) 748-6015. Hours: Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., closed Sunday.

Checked October 2026. Hours, fees, residency rules and accepted items change, sometimes with little notice. Call the site or check its official page before you load up.

Fees

Monday to Friday: regular waste (household garbage and building materials) is $30.30 per ton, and yard waste is $25 per ton.

Saturday residential rate: $1 for the first 500 pounds, then $30.30 per ton over 500 pounds.

Tires and appliances:

  • Passenger car tires: $1.50 each at the scale house, or $13.50 if discarded on the hill
  • Truck tires: $10 each
  • Other tires: $28 each
  • Appliances: $20 each at the scale house

The city says tires and appliances must be declared at the scale house or you'll pay an extra surcharge. Plug your load into the dump fee calculator to estimate a weekday bill, and see what a scale ticket lists.

What not to bring

The city notes it's unlawful to put hazardous waste of any kind in residential collection. Take chemicals, paint and batteries to a household hazardous waste program instead. See household hazardous waste. The city's South Mulch Facility on Davis Creek Road is listed as closed, so yard waste goes to Trail Ridge at the yard-waste rate.

Tips for a smooth trip

  • Saturday closes at 1 p.m. Arrive early, especially if you're coming from the north side.
  • Tarp the load. See covered-load rules.
  • Keep tires and appliances where the scale attendant can see them, and declare them.
  • Use the Dumpmapper map to find closer transfer stations or recycling drop-offs.
