Miramar Landfill basics
The Miramar Landfill and Recycling Center is at 5180 Convoy St., San Diego. The city lists hours as Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sundays (Miramar Landfill page). Fees depend on your vehicle, the type of waste, the load's weight and whether the waste was generated inside the City of San Diego.
Flat rates for cars, pickups and small trailers
Cars, SUVs, minivans, vans, pickups and trailers up to 5 ft wide by 9 ft long by 4 ft high fall into Vehicle Tier 1, for loads under one ton. Pickup and van eligibility depends on payload capacity. Tier 1 pays a flat rate per load:

|---|---|---|
| General refuse (trash) | $75 | $86 |
| Construction & demolition debris | $108 | $122 |
| Special handling waste | $108 | $122 |
| Food material | $75 | $75 |
| Green material | $50 | $50 |
| Clean wood | $25 | $25 |
Tier 2 covers loads over one ton and under three tons, such as a pickup towing a trailer or any trailer bigger than the Tier 1 size. That flat rate jumps to $148 for city trash ($156 non-city) and $352 for city C&D debris ($374 non-city). Source: Miramar FY2027 fee flyer (PDF).

Other San Diego County landfill prices
Miramar is the only big landfill in the county with a full public fee schedule that we could find. The privately run Otay Landfill in Chula Vista tells visitors to call (619) 421-3773 for a full list of rates (Otay Landfill's disposal rates page). We couldn't find an official published price list for Sycamore Landfill in Santee, so call that site directly before you go and don't rely on third-party price lists.
