Which landfill is the Clint landfill?
The Greater El Paso Landfill is at 2600 Darrington Rd., Clint, TX 79928. The City of El Paso owns and operates it. The city lists hours as Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday (El Paso Environmental Services page). According to the city, 1,500 to 2,000 tons of waste arrive every day from homes and businesses in El Paso and nearby communities such as Horizon, Clint and Fabens (City of El Paso news release (Dec. 3, 2025, PDF)).
Clint landfill prices
The City of El Paso's most recent public statement on prices is in its December 2025 news release about new landfill cells. It says the landfill is open to the public and private haulers and that "disposal fees begin at $16 per truckload for waste weighing less than one ton" (City of El Paso news release (Dec. 3, 2025, PDF)).
We couldn't find a full per-ton schedule on the city's website for heavier loads, construction debris, tires or other special items. Call the city's 3-1-1 line or the landfill before hauling a big or unusual load, and ask:
- What's the price for my vehicle and an estimated weight?
- Do construction debris, brush, tires or appliances cost extra?
- What forms of payment do you take?
The city says commercial haulers need a hauler permit to deliver loads to the landfill.
Prices checked October 2026. Fees change, often at the start of a fiscal year, and the scale house has the final word. Call ahead before you load up.
What the landfill won't take
The city lists these as prohibited at the Greater El Paso Landfill (El Paso Environmental Services page):
- Class 1 industrial waste
- PCBs, including items with electrical transformers, capacitors and ballasts
- Automotive products such as gasoline, antifreeze, motor oil, used oil filters and lead-acid batteries
- Liquid waste, meaning waste that fails the paint filter test for "free liquids"
- Regulated hazardous waste and radioactive materials
- Regulated asbestos-containing materials
Industrial, municipal or oil and gas generators can ask the city to approve a special waste.
Cheaper options for El Paso residents
El Paso residents (not businesses or contractors) can take trash, household hazardous waste and bulky items to the city's five Citizen Collection Stations. The city then hauls that trash to the landfill. The stations also take recyclables, but the city says they don't accept construction or demolition material. Check the station page for ID requirements and limits before you go (El Paso Environmental Services page).
The city also offers special collections for large household junk. For hazardous items, see our guide to household hazardous waste.
